Ordering Korean Food from SkipTheDishes

August 04, 2018
As someone who's not really good at cooking, I had no choice but to order food when I was left home alone for 2 days. Unlike Korea with their many delivery services,  here from where I live, we can only get our food delivered from a few selected restaurants through SkipTheDishes. Its an online food ordering delivery network that connects people from local restaurants and food couriers available on some mid-market cities in Canada (Wikipedia).

I had a hard time deciding what I wanted to eat , but after half an hour I finally decided on Korean food. The restaurant I chose was called "Little Korea" and had a good reputation for having delicious but cheap Korean food.  Thankfully it didn't really have much on the menu, which I like, since I get intimidated if theres too much options to pick from.

In the end, I ended up ordering Seafood Korean pancakes, 12 pcs of Yangyeom chicken wings , Beef Bulgogi , and Spicy Tteokbokki. I know its alot but I wanted to have some left overs that I can eat the next day.

After ordering comes payment,,  originally I chose credit card but for some reasons it wasn't working so I decided to pay through cash. The total was $54.15;  the food subtotal was $39.40 , GST and PST was $5.42 (  tax here is %13 😥) , Delivery fee was $3.95 and  I tipped the courier 10% ($3.98).

After finishing the payment,  skipthedishes will take you to page with a map that shows the restaurant and the location you chose to receive your delivery. On the side  of the map, it lists the delivery status of your oder, it was a nice surprise and was very helpful.

After 40 minutes, it arrived at my location.  The food was still very hot and the smell was fantastic. Check them out: (please pardon my horrible photo taking skills , I was also too hungry and lazy to put it on a plate )

Overall, I had a great time using SkipTheDishes for the first time. Even though it can get a little expensive, I felt like it was worth it since it saves me the trouble of going to the restaurant location that was  quite a distance. I definitely will be using it again in the near future and  recommend it to you guys if its available from where you're from.
